Sr Staff Engineer, SSD - Technical Customer Management (Shakopee, MN)

Join our team as a Senior Manager, TCM, in our Design Center in Shakopee, MN reporting to the Director in the Enterprise SSD Business Unit TCM department. You will be responsible for all aspects of the customer qualification, drive customer features into the design team, integration of Seagate solid state (SSD) drives into customers systems and sustaining issues.
Job responsibilities include :
  • Manages and directs complex qualification projects for customers, worldwide, with minimal supervision assuring successful completion.
  • Customer qualification team lead with responsibilities that include: detailed qualification plans, drive requirements / shipments, customer unique and critical requirements.
  • Strike a critical balance between product maturity and accelerated schedules.
  • Benchmarks competitive products, drives best in class customer qualification practices.
  • Identifies customer requirements and business opportunities and proactively drives into PLM, Core Team and development processes for support and acceptance.
  • Proactively identifies and resolves critical issues affecting customer qualification or customer relations.
  • Effectively mobilizes required Seagate global resources and customer resources to execute plans and provides resolution to issues.
  • Effectively influences representatives and management of other Seagate functions to assure customer satisfaction and influences customer representatives and management to assure Seagate success.
  • Secures customer qualification slots for Design Center products.
  • Proactively and effectively manages customer communication and customer perception involving highly complex and sensitive issues.
  • Recognizes competitive situations at assigned customers, responds, analyzes and communicates proactively.
  • Effectively and accurately communicates program qualification status, issues, and opportunities to senior management providing useful analysis and guidance.
  • Proactively coordinates with other internal organizations, at various locations and levels, to ensure that Seagate appears as one company to customer.
  • Plans, organizes, and leads customer product reviews and other business meetings involving multiple Design Centers.
  • Proactively identifies opportunities and drives improvements into Seagate business processes.
  • May be responsible for providing work direction to the qualifications team.
  • Deep understanding of the customer pain points, hot buttons and who identify and influence the decision maker.
  • Be the voice of the customer into the design center.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree required
  • Must have 10+ years of disk drive or related experience.
  • 2+ years in customer related roles.
  • 3+ years with senior management experience required.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with internal organizations and customers.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • MBA
